Did You Know? Be Conscious!

Did you know that H&M has a program where you can recycle your old clothing? Sometimes, things are really too tattered to up-cycle, re-sell or donate. This is a great way to still find value in old clothes instead of them just getting a new residence in a land fill. We all are (or should be) trying to make our carbon footprint smaller. Ever wondered where your old clothes go when you throw them out in the trash? Hmmmm!

Clothes me and my husband donated. They were too tattered to go  to the Salvation Army or Goodwill.

A great way to save money when shopping. Always use the discount codes or coupons when you can.
A penny saved, is a penny earned.

Bring your old clothing to H&M and they will happily take it from you and in return you get a voucher for a 15% discount to use on your next H&M purchase.

These are some pieces that I purchase from the Conscious Collection when it hit stores back in Spring. All of the materials used to make the garments for this collection are from 100% recyclable materials. That scarf you see there is huge. It measures 50"x 52",  so you can use it as a wrap for the body (skirt, swimsuit cover-up, etc) or head.

This Is How I Do It....Shampoo Days...

Hey Y'all. I'm back again with more on my hair. This is my shampoo ritual for my hair for the next three shampoos/co-washes after my relaxer day.

Having long hair is nice, but it can be bothersome! LOL! However, when you consider that your hair thrives only because you put in the effort, then it makes things bearable and worth it.

Whenever I leave my hair out, I get compliments on it, and actually people don't ask me "is that your real hair?" I did get that once when my hair was natural, and I asked the chick why she asked. She told me it was because of the hair color, and that she had never seen a bleach blonde look perfect. Kudos to my colorist at the time. "Hey Fabian", if you ever come across this post!

♥♥Update On My Hair And My Healthy Hair Journey♥♥

My NG had gotten out of hand at 16 weeks post relaxer. Also, I need a trim again! LOL!
Since started my healthy hair journey in September 2011, my hair has come a long way in terms of health and length. My initial goal was to get my hair healthy again after I had a bad experience at the hair salon that I had been going to for a little over 1 year.

My problem has never been growth. I always knew that hair grows, and it would; it was just retaining length that was elusive.

Just a little over a year into my hair journey, I began taking vitamins supplements specifically for hair, skin and nails. Since my first announcement about it, I have been getting many questions from people wondering if I was still taking the vitamins and how they were working.

Here's my story....

Isabel Marant Pour H and M

Pour = For, in French

If you have been following my blog or even my You Tube channel, you would probably already know that I love H&M. It is one of my favorite places to shop because they are always on top of trend, and the prices are affordable.

They also do collaborations with high-end designers, or sometimes have celebrities endorse their collections, so that people who cannot otherwise afford the designer's main stream high-end designs can get a designer label or endorsed item from there.

So now it's  French/Parisian designer Isabel Marant's turn to work her magic to produce a collection which will be available at H & M come Fall 2013. If you are not familiar with her work, you may have at least been familiar with those trend sneaker wedges worn last year, and well some part of this year! LOL! Check out her website www.isabelmarant.com to see more of her designs.

Her effortless style, has created a widely influential and successful take on Paris chic. Mixing urban attitude, boho elegance and rock ‘n’ roll spirit, she manages to deliver genuine French allure. For H&M, Isabel Marant will create a wardrobe of must-have pieces inspired by her signature style. Available from November 14, 2013, in around 250 stores worldwide and online, the collection features clothing and accessories for women and teenagers. Isabel will also, for the first time, create a collection for men.

Isabel Marant

Isabel says: “I am flattered by this collaboration. H&M works with the best designers and this invitation is an exciting honor. I aim at creating something real, that women want to wear in their everyday lives, with a certain carelessness, which I think is very Parisian. You dress up, but do not pay too much attention and still look sexy. The collection is infused with this kind of easiness and attitude. Everything can be mixed following one’s own instincts. My take on fashion is all about personality."

Born and raised in Paris, Isabel Marant started customizing her own clothes while still at high school. A graduate of the famed Studio Berçot, Marant worked her way up the fashion system starting with a jewelry line, then adding knitwear, finally launching her eponymous collection in 1994. Today she runs an internationally successful fashion powerhouse with a string of boutiques worldwide. Her Parisian chic style, a mix of Bohemia and masculine tailoring, grows in popularity season after season.

I am excited to see this collection. Can't wait till it comes out.

Five Month Update On My Red Curly Brazilian Hair Wig.

I have been getting questions on this hair since I first showed it earlier this year. Folks wanted to know how it was holding up. I wanted to make sure that I actually wore it a couple of times, and put it through some heat and chemical testing before I gave an update.

If you haven't seen the initial reviews before,  check out the vids below:

When I first got the hair - show and tell.

Made a wig and dyed it.

From curly to straight.

Styled in beach waves.
