My Winter Favorites♥

Hey Y'all! Just wanted to share with  you, the products that got me through the cold Winter months.

✿☛The Color Of The Year - Emerald: Nail Art☚✿

I posted about this collection early in March when it came out. When I got the email from Sephora, my jaw dropped! It was just that stunning! I went in to see the collection in person, and it certainly did not disappoint! I wanted to buy everything (LOL), but my budget did allow for that. I did check my stash and realized that I did have some eye, lip and cheek colors that were similar, so I just got things that I didn't have.

This nail polish trio is one of them.

✿Spring Forward Shopping Haul✿

I did some Spring shopping y'all! I got in on some sales and deals. Wanna see what I scored?

Then check out the videosssssss!

I must add that I did get a replacement for the broken piece of jewelry, but it was worse off than the first pair! I cannot believe that Just Fab thought so little of me as a customer to send me something like that!

At least they do not fuss to take the stuff back, and shipping is free both ways! If you follow me in IG or Fb you would have seen the photos. You can check my IG feed in the side bar to see the pic. Unbelievable!!

Beyoncé For H&M - Face Of Summer 2013.

The face of H&M’s Summer campaign will be the global superstar Beyoncé Carter. The pieces in the collection are inspired by her style.  The campaign images were shot in Nassau, Bahamas by photographers Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin, while the commercial was directed by Jonas Åkerlund. It was shot like a music video, and will be available to view online in its entirety, with edited versions for TV.

Click here for a sneak peak of the collection.

Beyoncé has worked with the in-house design team at H&M to create the perfect pieces for the heat of Summer. The collaborated concept was forged from the exploration of different emotions of women represented by the four elements - fire, water, earth, and wind.  25 percent of sales of will be donated to H&M for Water. H&M’s initiative with WaterAid has so far raised £2,650,000 since 2002!

I love to shop at H & M because of the affordable, fun and quality trendy pieces that they offer, as well as they are great corporate citizens who give back to their communities to support those in need.

Being a fan of Mrs. Carter's style, I eagerly await to see what the line looks like. I used to shop at Deréon online, but that went under last year along with Baby Phat.

All Eyeshadow Base Look.

Last month I had posted about Sigma's new eye shadow bases. See the original post here. I purchased one in a color that I didn't already have in my Color Tattoo collection from Maybelline.

I made a good choice with the one I bought because it is a duo-chrome color, which simply means that it reflects two colors simultaneously depending on how the light catches it.

This look is easy to re-create as with all the looks I do as tutorials, and the products used are budget friendly especially for their quality. If you are interested in purchasing any of these, you can find Maybelline at your local drug store or mass merchandisers. Sigma is only available online though. See the side bar to connect to Sigma, and for a discount code that you can use when making your purchase.

My Day At The Vintage Apparel Market.

You have not seen vintage clothing and accessories for sale until you take a look these from the Dallas Vintage Clothing Market, which was open from March 15th-16th at the Grapevine Convention Center!!!

There was some pieces of clothing there over 90 years old! They were very, very fragile though, and should someone purchase them, they would definitely have to be for collecting purposes.

I just started doing corset training, and I was hoping to see some of the originals from yester year. To my surprise, there were none. I went on the Saturday, so maybe they did have and they had already sold out.

I enjoyed perusing these things that people of long ago wore, and how much today's fashion is influenced by the designs. Then again, every 2 decades styles repeat themselves I tell ya, the textile maybe different, but the design is similar/inspired by.

I didn't buy anything though, I just went to look. Feast your eyes.....

Handmade, custom designed statement-piece jewelry.
A close-up of one of the handmade statement pieces.

Vanity hand mirrors, jewelry boxes and picture frames. They had heft!
I don't think this was hers! LOL! It was only $145.00

I can't remember the last time I have seen a handkerchief! Do people still carry those?
This skirt was made in the 1920's. It was super fragile.

Garments extending from the Edwardian era to the 1960's.

♥OCC's Pure Pigment - Product Review And Tutorial♥

I love OCC (Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics)! They are very well known for their Lip Tars. Their products are cruelty-free (meaning they are not tested on animals), and they are vegan friendly (meaning no bits of animals were used in the manufacturing). I also use their airbrush foundation and colors, nail polish, as well as the Lip Tars.

This Pure Pigment  - Rust - that I purchased late last year, may not be available anymore, but I believe that the color Burning, might be a close match to it. Click here to see all the colors of the pure pigments.

Price: $14.00. So totally worth every penny!

Check out the video to see the product and how I created the look.

Sephora + Pantone Universe - The Color Of The Year: Emerald

This collection is jaw-dropping beautiful! I went into the store to take a closer look so that I can compare to see what I have that looks similar, so that I won't make duplicate purchases.

You should check it out. It's absolutely stunning, and just in time for St. Patty's!! Click on the image to see the full collection.

Shades of green seem to be the color of the month, since I also see a lot of mint green popping up in the clothing stores.

☛Understanding Textured Hair Using The L.O.I.S Hair Typing System.☚

This hair typing system in my opinion does a whole lot more to evaluate hair types. Thanks to my 'hair Bible' as I like to call it - The Science Of Black Hair by Audrey Davis-Sivasothy, I am able to share this with you.

☺I Made A Fierce, Red Wig!☺

I purchased this hair from Les Plus Trading Firm on Ali Express back in January. It is Brazilian Virgin Deep Wavy. I bought 2 bundles - 14 inches and 16 inches, and I paid less than $100 for them both. The shipping was FREE, and I got it delivered in 3 days.

Well, the hair is no longer virgin since I dyed it! LOL! I am rather pleased with the result.

This is the first look when I got the hair..

The customer service was great and so did the product turn out to be in the end.

For those who have never shopped on Ali Express and are considering it:
I suggest that you always check their ratings and reviews first! Send the vendors messages to see how quickly they communicate with you, and use standard English. The vendors are in China, and of course English in NOT their first language, so the non-use of slang and idioms will surely make the communication process smooth. Also, there are many, many vendors on there selling the same or similar items - check around and compare prices, ratings and reviews before you buy.

Scroll down the page of the item that you are interested in to get more specifications (description, size, material, weight, etc) on it.

I have purchased many things (clothing, shoes, jewelry) from Ali Express in the past, and I really haven't had a problem, so if asked, I will recommend purchasing from there. You should also know that the vendors do not get your money until you have confirmed that you have received your item, and if it is not to your satisfaction, you can open what is called a 'dispute' to have the situation resolved, like Ebay does. I cannot give an insight as to how that turns out because thankfully, I have not had to use that service. It is good to know that there is a safety net in place though.

If you are interested in purchasing this hair, or any other from the Les Plus Trading Firm, then visit them here.

☺The 52-Week Financial Challenge☺

I found out about this only this year. Many of us are always looking for ways to save money one way or the other. We will opt to buy the cheaper brand, purchase things on sale, use coupons and discount codes, etc.

I am always trying to help others save money on fashionable items, that's why I always post discount codes, or share links for coupons and so on. This time I will be sharing how you can put aside $1,378 by the end of this year.

If you haven't heard about this before, well here it is. With this money saving challenge, you put aside the same amount of money as the week's number so...

Week 1..................save $1
Week 2..................save $2
Week 3..................save $3
Week 4..................save $4
                   |
                   |
                   |
Week 52................save $52

At the end of the year, you would have put aside $1,378. Now, it doesn't seem like much after a year, but it sure will come in handy! I am participating in this challenge, and so far I have accumulated $70. I have been putting aside more than I need to each week, so that when it starts to get tougher and the weeks go on, if I fall short with coming up with the money to put aside, I won't fall short overall!

This is week 10 of the challenge. If you wish to join at week 10 and you have the accumulated amount of $55, you can start there, or if not, just start with what you have and see how much you can save at the end of 2013. Sorry this post is so late, but hey..........better late than never! :)

You can choose to save your money anyplace where it won't be interfered with. If you choose to open a bank account specifically for the challenge, make sure the bank doesn't apply any charges that would reduce the amount you are trying to save on a weekly basis.
